National Bowling Day - Aug. 25th, 2007


National Bowling Week 2007 is the second annual celebration of bowling across the country, beginning

with "National Bowling Day" on August 25. The

week's activities will include national contests and

bowling promotions, as well as clinics and events

in cities nationwide.
 

National Bowling Week is back and while the official celebration is not until the end of August, the festivities have already begun.

Applications are now available for the 2nd Annual Show and Tell Contests sponsored by the Bowling Proprietors' Association of America and the United States Bowling Congress.

The art/photo and essay competitions offer cash prizes for adults and scholarships for youth up to $2,500 and a chance to be part of the bowling industries' communications efforts. Winners will be announced during National Bowling Week Aug. 25-31 and winning entries will be featured in USBC and BPAA publications.


Art or photos will be accepted from June 1 through Aug. 1 in one of four categories: Adult (18 years of age or older as of Aug. 1, 2007); Youth (age 13-17); Youth (age 12 and under); and professional. Essays will be accepted from May 1 through July 1 in three categories: Adult (18 and over); Youth (13-17) and Youth (12 and under).

 

Entries for the contests should be addressed to either the National Bowling Art or Photo Contest or the National Bowling Essay Contest and mailed to 5301 S. 76th St., Greendale, WI 53129 or you can drop it off at your local Don Carter Center.
